Since 1995, all kinds of organic pickled preserves have been produced in Otterndorf at the lower Elbe river. Raw materials are purchased in the immediate vicinity whenever possible. In the year of 2006, Marschland Naturkost bought 92 hectares near the production site and started its own „Bioland“ cultivation. Today, the company proudly presents its BCS and IFS certificates and produces organic preserves under the Marschland brand for the domestic natural food trade and worldwide. Marschland offers some organic German specialties that may be hard to find abroad, including traditional German Applesauce, Rote Grütze (red fruit pudding), Grünkohl (German style Kale), and Pfifferlinge (chanterelle mushrooms).
