A juicy temptation of Dr. Oetker is the authentic German cheese cake: The addition of quark and yogurt, the cake will be delicious juicy, fresh and fluffy.
You need: Springform pan, slightly greased; 2 sticks butter, softened but not melted; 4 eggs; 500g Quark & 300g plain Yogurt ( we recommend 28 oz plain & unflavored greek yogurt)
- Grease Springform pan; adjust oven rack to the medium setting; preheat oven to 355F
in a medium size bowl combine cake mix (Backmischung), 1 stick butter & 1 egg and combine with dough cook attachment to make the streusel; place 2/3 of the streusel mix into the Springform pan and press down firmly to form cake crust, mix the the remaining 1/3 of the streusel mix by hand until a smooth dough forms, then roll out the dough and roll into a thin sausage/roll, place the dough sausage/roll alongside the rim of the Springform pan and press down to complete the crust
- Melt the remaining stick of butter and set aside until cooled slightly; in a medium mixing bowl combine cake topping mix (Belag) with remaining eggs and the greek yogurt and beat on high with the whisk or beater attachment until mixture is free of lumps, fold in the melted butter on the lowest setting until blended; pour mixture into the Springform pan and place cake into the preheated oven;
- Bake for 55 minutes; remove Springform pan from oven and allow cake to cool on a cooling rack before removing it from the cake pan; serve & enjoy
