You are missing the tasty German bread? Then this is the right product for you! You just have to add water to this bread baking mix, knead it and the put it into your oven. Now you can bake your own real German bread everytime you need it.
This backing mix is for a bread with the weight of 26.5 oz. The package contains 17.6 oz of meal and yeast.
Cooking in the oven: Knead 1 package bread mixture and 10.14 fl.oz (300 ml) of warm water with the dough hook slowly at first, then knead it at the highest level until the dough comes away from the bowl. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and let it rise for about 30 minutes. With floured hands, form a loaf of bread or rolls and then give them on a buttered or with parchment paper lined baking tray, or put it into a greased baking dish. Moisten with water and let rise in a warm place at 30-50°C (86-122°F) for about 30-45 minutes, until the volume has increased significantly. Keep the surface of the dough moist by brushing or spraying with water. Preheat the oven to 230°C (446°F) (210°C (410°F) with circulating air). Give the bread and a fireproof dish with water in the oven. Decrease the temperature after 10 minutes by 30°C (86°F).
Baking time: 1 baking mix of bread (17.6 oz): 45-60 minutes Rolls: 15-25 minutes
Preparation with bread maker: First, add 11.5 fl. oz (340ml) water (20-25°C (68-77°F)), then place the pack of the bread mixture in the bread machine. Choose a program with a total time of 2.5-3 hours (usually "normal" or "base", not "whole wheat program").
